Here are some good resource professionals for authors. The people listed below are all professionals that can help you polish/publish your book. I reccommend them personally, they are some of the best in the business, and still affordable for the average writer. 

Using your own contractors is always cheaper than a vanity publisher. I have used them all personally. They have not paid any fees to be listed here.
