SCROLL DOWN to See
the Book Reviewer List

Book reviews are the best way to promote your book for free! Now, don't expect reviewers to PAY for your books! That's not how this works. You send the book to the book reviewer, and they review your book, hopefully on Amazon, where book reviews SELL books better than anything else. A regular print ad in a newspaper can cost thousands of dollars. A book review only costs you the postage and the cost of the book. Got it?

Although submitting books for review can be costly (with postage costs, etc), the rewards are enormous. And it's still a LOT cheaper than print ads. A positive book review on Amazon is like a shower of gold for writers. If you can get 10 or more positive reviews, your book looks like a winner for anyone looking to buy it. In addition to regular book review websites, you should contact non-tradtional sources for reviews, especially if your book is about a niche topic. For example, if you write a book about dog training, contact some well-known dog trainers and see if they will review your book.

Read this fantastic article by bestselling romance author Stacy-Deanne about how to "trick" reviewers into reviewing your self-published book (hint* sometimes it's best to just keep your mouth shut!). And this is another great article on how to approach Indie Bookstores without sounding like an idiot.

Be careful when you send out books to people who solicit you for a copy of your book. Most legitimate reviewers don't solicit authors directly. Most of these requests are bogus, (people who just want the book for free).

There are some sites that do book reviews for a fee, namely Kirkus Discoveries and Clarion. This practice is widely used, but still frowned upon as expensive and unnessary. If you can get someone to review your book for free, why pay $500 or more for someone to do it?

CONFIRMATIONS: The big problem for POD authors is that a lot of reviewers won't bother with self-published books. Period. We have checked-- all the sites listed below WILL accept self-published (POD) books. If the listing says "confirmed directly" that means that I actually talked to the reviewer directly via email or telephone to make sure they accepted self-pubbers. Otherwise, the reviewer has stated specifically on their submission guidelines that they accept POD and small press, and therefore they are listed here.

If your book is refused by any of the sites below simply because it is self-published, contact us so we may update the list and remove the reviewer.

You must make sure the reviewer accepts your genre!  It is your responsibility to contact the reviewer and make sure he/she will accept your book. Don't waste money sending out blind review copies without making sure that your book is within the reviewer's guidelines for submission.

A word of caution: if your book is un-edited, full of typos, or otherwise unfinished-don't bother contacting the reviewers below. You will be wasting your time and theirs. Don't send unsolicited books to reviewers who don't want them. If the reviewer's guidelines say "NO Romance", don't try to convince them that your romantic novel is actually a western. You get the idea. Self-published authors have a hard time getting reviews, so if your book is a slap-job, the reviewer just gets angry and stops accepting POD submissions. It just makes it harder for the rest of us.

Trust Thy Reviewer. Not everyone is going to love your book. That's Okay. A few negative reviews are expected. Don't freak out. But take the advice under advisement, and be smart about it. Let's say you send your book out to 10 reviewers. If one reviewer hates your book, but nine reviewers LOVE it, you probably have a hit. On the other hand, if all ten reviewers think your book is a giant piece of crap, it's probably a piece of crap. Back to the drawing board.

Please contact us if you would like to reccomend an addition to this list.

This list is updated often, so check back every week or so. Help us keep this list updated by reporting dead blogs or reviewers that are no longer accepting submissions. Please  REPORT any review blog that does not accept self-published books. Also report any site that is not accepting submssions currently. If a reviewer states that thay are "really backlogged", or that the review process takes many months, generally we will not list them here. Self-published books have a hard enough time getting reviewed without having to deal with sitting at the bottom of a reviewer's mountain of unread submissions.

We are developing this list as an organized and indexed e-book that will soon be available for download.
